Abstract
Welcome to the first compliance report of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ). The purpose of this report is to present a convenient reference for the environmental data we generate about mobile sources, or moving sources of air pollution. These sources include vehicles, engines, and motorized equipment that produce exhaust and evaporative emissions. It is our job to regulate these sources of air pollution and make sure that they comply with emissions and fuel economy requirements. Specifically, this report summarizes vehicle and engine compliance program data we collected in 2007. These data include test results from model year (MY) 2007 certification activities plus other types of compliance reports and test results produced during calendar year 2007. Sales data presented in this report are based on MY 2006 sales because MY 2007 sales data were not yet available at the time of publication. National emissions inventory data are also for 2006, as those were the most recent data at the time of publication.
