Abstract
The Technical Resource Document is compilation of all of the available information on the design, construction, and evaluation of clay liners for waste landfills, surface impoundments, and wastepiles. Some information is presented for the first time in the document. The broad topics covered are: clays, with emphasis on their composition, fabric, and hydraulic conductivity; geotechnical test methods and soil properties including index properties, soil classification, and hydraulic conductivity testing; and clay chemical compatibility.
