Abstract
This volume provides a summary of the work completed by Abt Associates, Inc. as part of a voluntary, joint Amoco/USEPA Pollution Prevention Project undertaken at Amoco Oil Company's Yorktown Virginia Refinery. The overall goals of the Yorktown Project were to: (1) inventory releases of all pollutants to the environment from the Refinery; (2) develop, evaluate and rank process, maintenance and operating options that reduce these releases; and (3) identify barriers and incentives to implementing the alternatives identified. This component of the project was intended to identify and evaluate the risk reductions of alternative pollution prevention options under consideration for the Refinery.
