| Abstract |
Clean Harbors, Inc. (Clean Harbors) has been contracted by the USEPA Office of Pesticide Programs and Technical Support Division to provide analytical services in support of the National Pesticide Survey (NPS). The NPS has been designed to meet two major objectives: (1) to determine the degree to which the drinking water wells of the nation are contaminated by pesticides; and (2) to better understand how pesticide concentrations in drinking water wells are associated with patterns of pesticide usage and the vulnerability of ground water to pollution. Clean Harbors will analyze 750 samples from community water systems and 750 samples from domestic wells for the presence of chlorinated pesticides using gas chromatography with an electron capture detector by Method 2 (revised Oct. 27, 1987). This Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) has been prepared to ensure sample analysis and reporting in accordance with Method 2 and contractual reports of work. |
