Abstract
As part of joint interests in environmental matters between the United States and Japan, a Conference on Sewage Treatment Technology is held at intervals of about every 18 months. The publication contains papers from the Japanese group and from the American side that were presented at the Ninth Conference held in Japan. Subject matter covered included EPA's Construction Grants Program, water quality management, thermal sludge treatment process, fluidized bed incineration, coarse bubble to fine bubble aeration retrofit, volatile organic priority pollutants, nitrogen and phosphorus biological removal system research and energy use at municipal wastewater treatment plants, etc.
