Abstract
To inform potential future actions by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or others, the following document is a compilation of information gathered for EPA's National Environmental Policy Act (NRPA) process on alleviating sedimentation to Onondaga Creek from mudboil activity in the Tully Valley, Onondaga County, New York. The NEPA process was discontinued in January 2011 because EPA would not be taking a federal action regarding mudboil activity within a foreseeable time frame. Presently, the mudboil issue is being addressed through an agreement between Honeywell International Inc. and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC). Regarding NEPA discontinuation, EPA issued a public announcement (PA) on June 13, 2011 and on August 17, 2011 a revised PA was signed.
