Abstract | This report documents the development and field testing of the Medical Surpak, a mailable survey packet designed to be sent to medical X-ray machine users, exposed by them, and returned to a health agency for processing and evaluation of possible radiation hazards. The Medical Surpak is used to provide estimates of X-ray beam size and symmetry, total filtration, Roentgen output, and half-value layer. The design, cost data, interpretation of results, field trials, and future use are discussed. (Author) |
