Abstract
Groups of Neanthes arenaceodentata were fed different diets for four weeks prior to exposure to copper in seawater to see if nutritional history would affect toxicity. Diets used were: a combination of cultured fresh Ectocarpus siliculosis and Tetra Marin, rehydrated field-collected and dried Enteromorpha clathrata, and fresh cultured Enteromorpha. Copper levels in food were determined after 48 hours in the exposure system. Diet had an effect on the short term results (4- to 10-day LC50 values) but not on long term results (28 day LC50 values).
