Contents Notes
The long-term variability of available wind power has been studied in ten-year records of hourly wind speed observations at fifteen selected weather stations. Month by month and year by year sums of wind power occurrences were used to generate average, standard deviation, and autocorrelation statistics. The amplitude of the annual cycle in available wind pwer was at least 70% of the average at all locations. Long term integrated power production showed maxima and minima that difference by 36-91% from average annual production.
