| Abstract | The discovery of oil on Alaska's Arctic slope caused a tremendous scramble to define the extent of the find. Oil companies and their subcontractors soon found that Alaska intended to practice multiple use concepts in land management, thus requiring them to provide secondary waste treatment and, in many cases, complete treatment. The North Slope companies' systems range from simple stabilization ponds to tertiary treatment. This report discusses the following: Systems description; Waste characterization; Discussion of systems performance. |
