Abstract
The Wastewater Treatment Compound Property Processor and Air Emissions Estimator Program (Water8) consists of analytical expressions for estimating air emissions of individual waste constituents in wastewater collection and treatment, a data base listing many of the common organic compounds, and procedures for obtaining printouts of emission estimates. In the Water8 program, separate emission estimates are made for each individual compound identified as a constituent of the waste. The emission estimates are based on the properties of the compound and its concentration in the waste. To obtain emission estimates, the user must identify the compounds of interest and provide their concentrations in the waste. The identification of compounds can be made by selecting them from the data base that accompanies the program or by entering new information describing the properties of a compound not contained in the data base. Estimates of total emissions from a waste can be obtained by summing the estimates for the individual compounds.
