Abstract
The report presents the results of the second phase of the Santa Clara Valley Integrated Environmental Management Project (IEMP), an innovative project designed to address environmental and public health problems posed by toxic chemicals in California's Santa Clara Valley. The project's goals are: to evaluate and compare the health risks - of cancer and other chronic, toxic effects - from toxic pollutants in the environment; to use the evaluation to set informed priorities for further analysis and possible control; to work closely with government agencies and the community to manage environmental public health problems effectively.
