"Much of this issue of Meeting the Callenge is devoted to describing how States, U.E. EPA and outside organizations are working together to enure the long-term viability of both new and existing small drinking water systems. Nationally, small systems (those regularly serving between 255 and 3,300 persons) represent 88 percent of all public water systems. They account for over 92 percent of the violations of current drinking water standards." |
