This study, conducted by personnel from the University of Idaho College of Forestry, covered the Snake River from Burbank, Washington upstream to Alpine, Wyoming as well as the Boise, Blackfoot, and Henry's Fork Rivers ... The principal objective of the study was: to assess benthic macroinvertebrate and benthic algal (periphyton) communities in the Snake River and selected tributaries. Twelve sites were sampled on the Snake River Mile (RM) 4 to RM 923. One site was sampled on each of the Boise, Blackfoot, and Henry's Forks rivers near their mouths. Temperature, total dissolved solids, and water velocity at each site were summarized in Table 2.
