| Abstract |
This Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) represents the culmination of a lengthy and detailed evaluation of disposal alternatives for sewage sludge generated at the District of Columbia's Blue Plains waste water treatment facility. The District and other jurisdictions involved in operation of Blue Plains have agreed to apply technologies to composting half of the sludge produced, and a Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI) for the composting was issued in 1984 for these operations. Over the past five years land application has been utilized to dispose of the remaining half. |
