| Abstract |
The purpose of the Safe Drinking Water Act of 1974 and its amendments is to ensure the health and safety of the nation's drinking water supply. Standards and regulations set by EPA are carried out and enforced by states monitoring public water systems. The publication provides information on the health and safety requirements placed on drinking water and the resulting costs that are passed on to consumers through monthly service rates. |
