Abstract |
The document provides guidance to RRA Facility permit applicants and writers concerning the statistical analysis of ground-water monitoring data at RCRA facilities. Section 1 is an introduction to the guidance; it describes the purpose and intent of the document, and emphasizes the need for site-specific considerations in implementing the Subpart F regulations of 40 CFR Part 264. Section 2 provides the reader with an overview of the recently promulgated regulations concerning the statistical analysis of ground-water monitoring data (53 FR 39720: October 11, 1988). Section 4 discusses the important hydrogeologic parameters to consider when choosing a sampling interval. Section 4 provides guidance on choosing an appropriate statistical method. Section 5 covers statistical methods that may be used to evaluate groundwater monitoring data when background wells have been sited hydraulically upgradient from the regulated unit, etc. Section 6 includes statistical procedures that are appropriate when comparing ground-water constituent concentrations; and Section 7 presents the case where the level of each constituent is compared historically. |
