Abstract
The Kanawha River is located entirely within the state of West Virginia. This report describes the result of an investigation by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that set out to ascertain the adequacy of wastewater treatment given to discharges located on the Kanawha River and to determine additional waste reductions necessary to attain water quality standards. Forty industries have been investigated individually to evaluate pollution control efforts, and to determine what further actions are needed in each instance.
