Abstract
Intensive study and investigation of mineral pollution and its causes, both natural and manmade, were carried out on the Arkansas and Red Rivers together with their tributaries in the middle third of the basins. The study covered water years 1961 and 1962. The investigations of benefits considered the impact of water quality improvement on municipal, industrial, and agricultural water uses. The evaluation was extended to include areas immediately adjacent to, and forming an integral part of economy of, the Arkansas-Red River basins. The evaluation extended through the year 2070, with emphasis on the 1970-2020 period. (Author)
