The scope of the report includes: The extent, types, and major sources of pollution; A review of existing laws and pending legislation regarding pollution of public waters in the States of North Dakota and South Dakota; Minimum stream flows necessary for public water supplies; Quality of water; Public health benefits of water pollution abatement resulting from the conservation, regulation, and use of water supplies under the Missouri River Basin program; Recommendations for pollution abatement; Effect of current and possible future pollution on water to be used for irrigation; and Other public health considerations.
