| Abstract |
The report discusses the results of a nationwide survey conducted from May to October 1980 to determine the type and effectiveness of past remedial actions at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. It presents in detail the study of nine sites chosen to document typical pollution problems and remedial actions at uncontrolled hazardous waste disposal sites. It also describes the technologies used: containment, removal of waste for incineration or secure burial, institution of surface water controls, and institution of ground water controls. It includes references, bibliography, and photographs for each site studied in detail. |
