Abstract
The report is Vol. IV of a series of 7 reports summarizing Illinois EPA's 1988 Volunteer Lake monitoring Program (VLMP). It provides a summary of 1988 VLMP lakes in West-Central Illinois a program overview, volunteer participation, and a ranking of lakes on a regional basis. Forty-four volunteers recorded total depth, Secchi disc transparency, and field observations for 23 lakes in West-Central Illinois between May and October, 1988. Average transparencies ranged from 13-114 inches. Volunteer water quality samples were collected at 6 lakes once every month from May thru October and ambient lake data, collected by IEPA staff, is presented for six lakes.
