Abstract | This report is a brief summary of the work accomplished under contract number 8-0248-606, Bioavailability and biokinetics of PAH and Metals in Marine Organisms. The purpose of this project is to study the accumulation from sediments of two metals, cadmium (Cd) and vanadium (V), and two PAH compounds, phenanthrene (PHE) and fluoranthene (FLU), by four marine organisms. The organisms under study are: striped bass (Morone saxatilis), winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus); blue mussel (Mytilis edulis); and the blue crab (Callinectes sapidus). |
