Abstract
A Chemical Testing Support System (CTSS) recommended as one of the core components of the Chemical Substances Information Network (CSIN), would facilitate compliance with Federal government testing and reporting requirements, and would simultaneously provide a sophisticated mechanism for the analysis of animal testing data. In a survey of existing systems, attention focused on the Toxicology Data Management System (TDMS), which is a prototype, automated system for the conduct and evaluation of laboratory animal experiments. The report outlines an implementation scenario for incorporating CTSS requirements into the TDMS.
