Abstract
This User's Guide for the AMS/EPA Regulatory Model (AERMOD) provides user instructions for the AERMOD model. The technical description of the AERMOD algorithms is provided in a separate document (EPA, 2004a). The revised AERMOD model described in this user's guide includes the following modifications and enhancements: the PRIME building downwash algorithms based on the ISC-PRIME model; use of allocatable arrays for data storage; incorporation of EVENT processing for analyzing short-term source culpability; post-1997 PM10 processing; a non-regulatory default TOXICS option that includes optimizations for area sources and the Sampled Chronological Input Model (SCIM) option; explicit treatment of multiple-year meteorological data files and the ANNUAL average; and options to specify emissions that vary by season, hour-of-day and day-of-week.
