Abstract
This document provides guidance to owners and operators of small public water systems (systems serving 10,000 or fewer people) on the requirements of the revised Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Regulation (UCMR) Program. The data collected through this program will be used to support the development of the Contaminant Candidate List (CCL), to support the Administrators determination of whether to regulate a contaminant, and to develop future regulations. The revised monitoring program is one of the cornerstones of the sound science approach to future drinking water regulation which is one of the goals of the 1996 SDWA Amendments.
