Abstract
General objectives of the study are to assess the probable effects the proposed project will have on water quality in local streams and reservoirs; to ascertain the benefits or harm resulting from changes in water quality; to assess the suitability of the water for proposed water uses, and to examine the need for regulation of streamflow for the purpose of water quality control. Need for streamflow regulation was studied not only in light of present conditions, but also under anticipated economic development in the Uncompahgre River Basin of the years 1985, 2010, and 2060. The report includes the results of a study of general public health aspects and insect vector control of the project. A preliminary evaluation of the insect vector problems that may be associated with the project is presented.
