Abstract
The report gives results of a review of the U-Gas Process being developed by the Institute of Gas Technology, from the standpoint of its effect on the environment. The quantities of solid, liquid, and gaseous effluents have been estimated, where possible, as well as the thermal efficiency of the process. For the purpose of reducing environmental impact, a number of possible alternatives are discussed, and technology needs are pointed out.
