Abstract
Solutions have been obtained for the dispersion of contaminant from a line source and from a point source in a non-uniform flow of ground water. Variation of soil properties and velocity along the flow modifies the maximum concentration at each cross section, while transverse variation of velocity causes a lateral shift of the trail of contaminant, and destroys the symmetry of concentration distribution at a cross section. The contaminant of a well by dispersion is used as an example of application.
