Abstract
The proceedings document summarizes the presentations at a Land Use Model Conference held February 19-21, 1995. The first day of the conference examined how well existing land use modeling and forecasting methods address the current statutorily-established issues and mandates, advantages and disadvantages of existing models and how they can be improved to address the current unmet needs. On the second day, discussions centered on new land use modeling and forecasting techniques. Modeling approaches and techniques that have recently been developed, but which need to be implemented and others that are still conceptual, were both discussed. Additionally, issues surrounding data requirements, model architecture and the model development process were examined.
