Abstract
This module presents a brief overview of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). This moudle emphasizes the components of Subtitles C, D, and I, which provide the authority for EPA to establish many of the major regulatory components of the hazardous waste, solid waste, and underground storage tank programs respectively. This module explains the relationship between RCRA statutory language and codified regulatory language; describes the major components of each subtitle; and identifies the major provisions established by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments (HSWA).

"Presents a brief overview of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Through RCRA, Congress provided EPA with the framework to develop regulatory programs to manage solid waste, hazardous waste, medical waste and underground storage tanks. The statute includes 10 subtitles, briefly surveyed in this module.
