Abstract |
Tire rolling resistance measurements at a steady state 50 mph were conducted on the Clayton dynamometer during a recent tire/dynamometer roll interface effects program. These measurements required the collection of front and rear roll speed data. Analysis of these data indicated that the front roll consistently revolves more slowly than the rear roll. This roll speed difference was defined a 'tire slip.' Analyses of the difference in roll speed data were conducted to determine if the tire slip is influenced by dynamometer horsepower setting, tire type, tire size and manufacturer. |
