Abstract |
A joint modeling project with scientists from the U.S.A. and U.S.S.R. has been accomplished. The three geographical areas investigated include Lake Baikal and the Sea of Azov in the U.S.S.R. and Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron in the U.S.A. The modeling approaches ranged from those employing material and mass conservation to describe water movement to those involving solution of the complete three-dimensional hydrodynamic equations. The model calculations were compared to available data and, in all cases, reasonable agreement was obtained. This report covers a period from May 1977 to December 1977, and work was completed as of April 1978. |
