Abstract
This report presents the results of 1973 invitational symposium held to encourage the development of techniques and methodologies in the assessment of the social impacts of oil spills. Sixty-three representatives of government, industry, the academic community, and environmental interest groups attended. The participants ranged from local citizens' group activists to national and international authorities on various aspects of the subject. The report, like the program it represents, is multifaceted, and divided into topic areas which correspond to the individual session themes.
