The study explores the environmental impact of the mining and reclamation techniques employed in West Virginia and Kentucky mountaintop removal and head-of-hollow fill sites. The project is divided into four major phases, the first three of which are discussed in this Interim Report: I. State-of-the-Art Review, II.
