Abstract
The Clean Air Act requires each state government to implement requirements for the prevention, abatement, and control of sulfur oxides, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and photochemical oxidants. The pollutants to be controlled by the proposed control strategy are divided into two sets, Set 1 consisting of particulate matter and sulfur oxides and Set 2 consisting of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and photochemical oxidants. The report fulfills the federal requirements outlined above by presenting the control strategy rules and regulations for the State of Alabama. Also included is the existing (1971) emissions inventory summary for each county in the State. (Author)
