Abstract
During 1993 the Baywide Fish Passage Workgroup met regularly to address the needs of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed's migratory fish resources. Under the auspices of the Chesapeake Bay Program's Living Resources Subcommittee, the Workgroup's efforts and resources helped coordinate activities, disseminate information, and document progress as well as establish goals for the future. The Workgroup also established goals for opening potential migratory fish spawning habitat. The Chesapeake Executive Council adopted the Fish Passage Goals Policy (Directive 93-4) with a target of over 1300 miles of major tributaries being opened to migratory fish in the next ten years, nearly 600 of those miles will be opened by 1998 (see Baywide Summary chapter for a list of sites used to establish the Fish Passage Goals Policy).
