Abstract
The flushing characteristics of two tidal streams, the Broadkill and Murderkill Rivers, have been established. Water quality characteristics of biological importance are described for the Broadkill River: There is a longitudinal and seasonal distribution of the various forms of phosphorus and nitrogen, oxygen, pH and chlorophyll pigments. The distribution of these various parameters is determined by the hydrographic features of the stream, the season and the location of one existing sewer outfall. (Author)
