Periodic meetings are held by the U.S. Department of Energy, Division of Automotive Technology Development. In these meetings, contractors, staff consultants, prospective contractors, and selected guests present and discuss the trends in requirements for future automotive power systems, the status of current programs, and the plans for future programs. This report summarizes the presentations and discussions. Included in this document are presentation summaries grouped under the following broad subject areas: Stirling engine program, gas turbine systems program, supporting research and technology, vehicle systems program, piston engine research and technology, diesel engine technology, and alternative fuels program.
