Abstract
Revised Standards of Performance for the control of emissions of particulate matter from electric utility power plants are being proposed under the authority of section 111 of the Clean Air Act. These standards would apply only to electric utility steam generating units capable of combusting more than 73 megawatts heat input (250 million Btu/hr) of fossil fuel and for which construction or modification began on or after the date of proposal of the regulations. This document contains background information, environmental and economic impact assessments, and the rationale for the standards, as proposed under 40 CFR Part 60, Subpart Da.
