Abstract
A project was undertaken to conduct comprehensive design studies pursuant to the selection of conceptual models of vapor generator feed pumps that will satisfy the performance requirement of each of three Rankine cycle automotive power systems currently under development to reduce air pollution. In pursuing the objective of providing variable output pumps for these applications, investigations were conducted of two selected courses: (1) fixed displacement pumps with variable speed drives, and (2) variable displacement pumps. The report presents a detailed summary of the project, describes the technical results, and gives conclusions. (Author)
