Abstract
This report summarizes current information relative to fugitive lead emissions from secondary lead smelters, ferroalloy plants, and gray iron foundries. Also included are an investigation of the application of fugitive lead emission factors from other source categories to the three subject industries, and a report on the applicability of fugitive lead factors that could be developed from a field study. Current state of the art techniques for source measurements of fugitive emissions (i.e. inplant) and ambient measurements of fugitive emissions (i.e. upwind/downwind) are presented and compared. This report aids in determining if field studies are worthwhile and recommends the types of studies to be followed.
