The document is a technical paper intended to provide guidance on how to design and perform terrestrial field studies relative to data requirements under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act as amended (FIFRA, P.L. 92-516). The paper discusses when the Agency requires these tests, their objective and suggests a general approach and some experimental designs which could be used to address Agency's concerns. A variety of basic wildlife investigative methods which have been found useful in these type of studies are briefly reviewed along with adequate references to assist scientists planning to undertake a study to support a Federal Pesticide Registration.
