Abstract
The objects of this survey were threefold: to determine the extent of air pollution in South Dakota; to evaluate presently available means for coping with the problem; and if necessary to recommend any steps required to restore and preserve the State's air resources. The State Department of Health requested the assistance of the United States Public Health Service in conducting this survey. Arrangements for the survey were completed in September 1961 and the survey itself, consisting of questionnaries, field inspections, and a review of existing information commenced in October 1961.
