Abstract |
The continuing development and evaluation of a microanalytical method for the determination of pesticides and their metabolites in human and animal tissues prompted an investigation of the absolute recovery of these compounds. This relationship between the amount of pesticides actually present in animal tissue and the amount extracted by several solvents and solvent systems has now been determined for a variety of tissues. Data will be presented comparing extraction efficiencies of hexane and chloroform:methanol in recovering C14 labelled DDT and dieldrin from the tissues of rats and rabbits dosed with these pesticides. |
