Abstract
This is a gas chromatographic (GC) method applicable to the determination of selected pesticides in municipal and industrial discharges as provided under 40CFR 136.1. A sample is solvent extracted with 15% methylene chloride in hexane using a separatory funnel. The extract is concentrated, then analyzed by GC with a flame photometric or phosphorus/nitrogen detector. The compounds included in the method scope are: azinphos methyl, demeton, diazinon, dichlorofenthion, dioxathion, disulfoton, ethion, malathion, parathion ethyl, and parathion methyl.
