Abstract
The climate of a city differs from that of the rural areas surrounding it, and an increasing amount of scientific research is devoted to comparative studies of urban and rural climates. This report is a survey of the literature on city climatology, with emphasis on that written since the series of articles published by Dr. H. Landsberg, from 1956 to 1962. Those meteorological aspects of urban climate that have been most frequently investigated are discussed herein; they are temperature, humidity, visibility, radiation, wind, and precipitation.
