Abstract |
Research was conducted to examine the filtration characteristics of alum and lime-softening sludges. Hardness effects on filterability were examined. Crystal seeding was found to be effective in improving the filterability of both alum sludge and lime-softening sludge. The size of crystal seed dosage, the mixing rate and the number of sludge recycles appear to be important factors in the drystal seeding process. (Author) |
