Abstract
This report presentation is a summary of toxicological data on three related halogenated dimethylhydantoin derivatives. All three compounds are listed in the TSCA Chemical Substances Inventory. They are: (1) 2, 4-Imidazolidinedione, 3-bromo-1-chloro-5, 5-dimethyl-CAS NO 126-06-7 (bromochlor dimethylhydantoin, abbreviated to BCDMH); (2) 2, 4-Imidazolidinedione, 1, 3-dichloro-5, 5-dimethyl-CAS NO. 118-52-5 (dichlorodimethylhydantoin, abbreviated to DCDMH; and 3. 2, 4-Imidazolidinedione, 1, 3-dibromo-5, 5-dimethyl-CAS NO. 77-48-5 dibromodimethylhydantoin, abbreviated to DBDMH). The product BCDMH is currently in the research and development stage at Glycol, although it is registered and sold as a pesticide by at least one other U.S. company.
