| Abstract |
This document provides methodologies and considerations for the evaluation and control of sidestreams generated in publicly owned treatment works (POTW's). The methodologies are structured in algorithms that provide guidance for the determination and control of the sidestream impacts. The algorithms are used initially to determine whether one or more sidestreams are affecting the primary and secondary mainstream process performance. Once an impact of the process performance is determined, additional algorithms are provided that present operational means of controlling the impact of the sidestream, either at the mainstream process or at the source of the sidestream. |
